Profile: Arsenal Venture Partners

We've profiled OnPoint Technologies, the U.S. Army's VC fund, but we haven't said much about the team that runs it, Arsenal Venture Partners. Based in California and Florida, Arsenal manages Onpoint as well as early stage fund MILCOM Technologies. The latter reports that they have invested in 14 companies over the last 9 years, attracting over $600M in venture capital.

Arsenal invests "at the intersection of the Defense and Commercial market." Since they work on Army technologies (some of the most important and commercially viable, we would argue) they are focused mainly on battery and power generation, or as they say: " Mobile Power and Energy Enabling Technologies." There does not seem to be a big-time advisory board or brand name directors. Most of the management team, if you can believe it, seem like experienced tech and defense executives. At the same time they are advertising some big name co-investors and defense partners.
